Bourses et soutien financier

 

It pays to study in French! Did you know that numerous bursaries and scholarships are available exclusively to students studying in French?

SAMS (Student Award Management System) allows you to apply for scholarships online and learn about eligibility details, deadlines and documents required for scholarships offered by the University of Regina.

GAP (Graduate Awards Portal) lets you explore and apply for graduate scholarships and check on the status of your application.

Apply for Scholarship (Graduate)

A federal-provincial scholarship valued at $500 per term is available to students enrolled full-time in French (at least 9 credits) to a maximum of $4,000.

Did you Know...

  • Award: granted on the basis of extracurricular involvement but may include academic criteria
  • Scholarship: granted on the basis of academic achievement but may include non-academic criteria
  • Bursary: granted on the basis of financial need
  • Prize: granted on the basis of academic achievement

There are a number of different scholarships available: some require an application and some are granted automatically.

 

Scholarships awarded automatically:

For students beginning their studies at the University of Regina directly out of grade 12

  • Circle of Scholars (highest admission average in their region) - $20,000 ($5,000 over 4 years)
  • U of R Entrance Scholarship
    • Admission average of 95% or higher - $3,000
    • Admission average of 93-94.99% or higher - $2,000
    • Admission average of 90-93.99% - $1, 000
  • Out-of-province student (admission average of 85-89.99%) - $1,500
  • New Frontier (highest average as of March 15 – not direct entry from grade 12) - $1,500

Student Loans for Postsecondary Education

Student loans help make postsecondary education more affordable. The Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan collaborate to provide financial aid to students for their postsecondary education.
